A home in Stuttgart needed a refresh to turn a dark, outdated kitchen into a space of light and enjoyment. We designed an island cooking station to connect the kitchen to the dining area and pale pink linoleum fronts were chosen for the cabinets and drawers. All contain a hand-crafted oak wood interior and is paired with Quartz countertops in a Carrara finish. The built-in wall units were devised with a super matt soft-touch surface to match the architecture of the space, installed just below ceiling height to enhance the elevation of the room. This shadow detailing is mirrored in the contrasting black skirting and handle recess, which adds to the kitchen’s lightweight – almost floating – look. We were also commissioned to design the storage cabinets for the main- and guest bathrooms. Pale pink linoleum was used again to mirror the visual language of the kitchen, custom-built to sit below the Corian wash basins.
